ConsTest 2025 is an open own choice brass band competition taking place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, on Saturday 12th April 2025. Boasting a modern take on brass banding, bands will perform in the brilliant Bradshaw Hall, competing for numerous prizes, including Denis Wick, Geneva and Alliance products, and the chance to work with virtuosos. ConsTest 2025 follows on from two years of successful events and invites a quality pairing of Alan Morrison & Ryan Watkins to return as adjudicators. Looking towards the future, the event continues to work with an appropriate registration system facing the player crisis head on and a desire to provide a day of endless musical indulgence for all involved - just one example of the modernistic takes on banding that ConsTest has. After a great day of competing, up-and-coming midlands outfit Karate Bandana will provide indie covers and originals as the support act for Year of the Dog. Year of the Dog, the BBC Introducing group, have blasted the biggest stages at festivals including Noz Stock, Kendal Calling, Cheltenham Jazz, Cardiff LGBTQ+ Pride and many more. The Dogs spent the summer of 2023 touring on a European scale at festivals and live music venues finishing with the Rugby World Cup final in Paris.
